RES Group Supports Patient Transport Services (PTS)

RES Group is helping the local community by delivering PPE for Patient Transport Services (PTS) across Yorkshire, offering their teams free-of-charge during the COVID-19 crisis.

RES Group Supports Patient Transport Services (PTS)

At RES Group, we believe in giving back to the community, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had the unique opportunity to do just that. With our normal operations on hold due to the restrictions in place, our Managing Director, Lisa Connor, offered our teams’ services free-of-charge to assist with a crucial need: delivering personal protective equipment (PPE) to Patient Transport Service (PTS) crews across Yorkshire.

This contribution came from a deeply personal place for Lisa and her family. In 2019, Lisa’s husband, Gary, suffered a heart attack and received life-saving care from the A&E crews at Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Thankfully, Gary made a full recovery, and since then, Lisa and Gary have made it their mission to give back. Last year, they took part in Restart a Heart Day, delivering CPR training to children, and now, during this challenging time, they’ve extended their support to help the local healthcare community by distributing essential PPE.

A Critical Contribution During COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic placed unprecedented strain on healthcare services, the need for PPE became one of the most critical issues for frontline workers. With increased demand and reduced staffing levels, ensuring PPE was readily available for PTS crews, volunteers, and partner providers became a top priority.

Recognising this need, RES Group offered their logistical expertise to support the distribution of PPE. Our teams have been assisting in delivering vital supplies across Yorkshire, ensuring that essential protective equipment reaches those who need it most. By providing these services, we’ve helped relieve the pressure on the NHS, allowing them to focus resources on their frontline services and continue providing the best possible care for patients.

A Grateful Response from Yorkshire Ambulance Service

We are incredibly proud of our team’s hard work and dedication during this time. Sam Sutcliffe, PTS Quality and Assurance Officer, and Emma Bramley, Alternative Resource Incident and Engagement Analyst, have been key points of contact for our staff as they collected and distributed PPE from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) headquarters.

In a heartfelt message, YAS expressed their gratitude, noting that the support from RES Group allowed them to redirect resources where they were needed most. Our staff were commended for their professionalism, punctuality, and friendly demeanor—qualities we always strive to uphold in everything we do.

Why This Support Matters

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare services cannot be overstated. With increased pressure on Patient Transport Services, ensuring that crews have the necessary PPE has been critical in maintaining safe and effective patient care. By stepping in to assist with this essential work, RES Group has played a small but significant role in supporting the ongoing efforts of the NHS during this crisis.

Community support like this is more than just a kind gesture; it reflects the true spirit of collaboration and resilience that has defined our response to the pandemic. For RES Group, it’s about giving back to the community that has given so much to us, and it’s a continuation of our commitment to making a positive impact, even in difficult times.

Looking Ahead

While the pandemic has challenged us in ways we never expected, it has also brought out the best in our team. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our local community and remain committed to supporting where we can.

At RES Group, we know that challenges like these require collective effort, and we are proud to stand alongside the healthcare heroes working tirelessly to keep us all safe.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Yorkshire Ambulance Service and helping where we can in the future. Thank you to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication.
