RES Group Supports Prostate Cancer UK Charity Match

At RES Group, we believe in making a positive impact both in our community and for important causes. On Saturday, November 26th, 2022, we had the pleasure of supporting the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover Charity Match at Hull Wyke ARLFC. This event brought together parents and coaches for an exciting rugby match, all in aid of raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Our sponsorship of Sean Higgins on the coaches’ team was a small way for us to contribute to a cause that touches many lives.

About the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover

The Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover was organised as a fun, community-driven event aimed at raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to funding research and providing support to men diagnosed with prostate cancer. The match, which took place from 12pm to 4pm, pitted parents against coaches in a friendly but competitive game. The atmosphere was electric, with players and spectators alike coming together for an afternoon of rugby and charitable giving.

Why Prostate Cancer Awareness Matters

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK, affecting 1 in 8 men during their lifetime. Despite this, awareness around prostate cancer remains relatively low compared to other types of cancer. Events like the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover play a crucial role in increasing visibility and ensuring that men understand the importance of early detection and regular screenings.

By supporting this event, RES Group not only contributed financially but also helped promote the message of early diagnosis and the lifesaving work that Prostate Cancer UK does for those affected by this disease.

RES Group’s Contribution

RES Group was thrilled to be able to offer a generous donation to sponsor Sean Higgins, one of the dedicated coaches participating in the match. We’ve always believed in supporting our community in any way we can, and this sponsorship allowed us to play a small part in a much larger effort to raise funds for prostate cancer research and support services.

In a statement, the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover expressed their gratitude, saying. "Their support for this game has gone above and beyond our expectations, thank you RES Group." These words mean a great deal to us, and we are proud to have contributed to such an impactful event.

A Successful Day for Charity

The event was a fantastic success, with the rugby match serving as a highlight of the day. Both the coaches and parents gave it their all on the field, demonstrating the passion and commitment that this community has for both the sport and the cause. Funds raised from the match will go directly to Prostate Cancer UK, helping to support research and provide much-needed resources for men and their families affected by the disease.

It was heartening to see the local community come together for this cause, showing just how powerful collective efforts can be. We hope that by being involved, we’ve helped further the mission of Prostate Cancer UK and inspired others to do the same.

Looking Forward

At RES Group, we’re committed to continuing our support for important causes and events that uplift the community. Whether it’s sponsoring local sports teams or contributing to life-saving charities like Prostate Cancer UK, we believe in the power of giving back.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover for organising such a meaningful event and allowing us to be a part of it. We look forward to supporting more initiatives in the future that make a difference in the lives of others.

Supporting events like the Two Trevs Rugby League Takeover is just one of the many ways RES Group aims to give back. Together, we can make a lasting impact and continue the fight against prostate cancer.
